EU Bioeconomy Conference 2022

Youth Engagement

The EU Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors take an active role in the Bioeconomy Conference

This is our way to celebrate the European Year of Youth!

The European Commission launched a call for applications for Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors.

The call worked tremendously well, and 325 great applications were received with 15 Youth Ambassadors being selected from all over the EU.

The Ambassadors are between 18 and 32 years old and have expertise in various fields related to bioeconomy. They are professionals and students who will carry the voice of youth in the bioeconomy for the next two years.

  • They will lead by example, inform and inspire others about the bioeconomy, raise awareness and participate in various bioeconomy related events and discussions.
  • They will work independently on spreading the message of the bioeconomy in the ways and the communities, they see fit.
  • They will also participate in each Conference session by participating in designing the session content and take-away messages!

Meet our Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors and hear their message on the importance of bioeconomy, youth engagement and participation in the High-Level Bioeconomy Conference!

Bioeconomy Creative Competition: “the bioeconomy in my life”

The European Commission launched a creative competition for youth aged 14-35 years.

The purpose of the competition was to encourage young citizens to show how the bioeconomy is part of their daily life or how it could be part of their daily life, to raise awareness about the bioeconomy, engage youth and expand horizons on different forms of bioeconomy across Europe.

The selected artworks demonstrate the variety of the Bioeconomy, its opportunities and its meaning. They show the importance of bioeconomy in daily life or what bioeconomy can be at its best!

Winners of the competition will be awarded soon and  thewinning art works will feature at the Conference!
